Committees

Our active committees form the lifeblood of the Canton Chamber.  Volunteer members work collectively to best serve the Chamber and its members.  If you would like to participate in our committee activities, please feel free to contact the chairperson and get involved.

  • Communications

      Mission: To reach out to the membership on a regular basis via a variety of media to provide useful and timely information about members and happenings within the chamber.
  • Community Outreach

      Mission: To share the Chamber’s financial success with local charitable causes and to foster future business people through our school system. This Committee includes the chamber’s charitable organization, Gifts for Canton.
  • Education & Training

      Mission: To educate the chamber membership on a variety of topics pertaining to business owners and professionals via regular training
      and knowledge-building presentations and/or workshops.

      Mission: To monitor the Chamber’s monetary activities and accounts for maximum fiscal responsibility and efficiency.

      Meets: as needed - primarily October- December
      Scholarship Committee members

      Meets: 2-3 times in May with interviews typically during school hours; scholarship presented in early June.

  • Government Affairs

      Mission: To keep chamber members informed of local, state and federal issues that may have an impact on business and its owners. This committee actively participates in the various Canton town commission public hearings.

      Mission: To educate and inform chamber members of the insurance products available throughout our chamber as well as topics relatedto the insurance industry.

    • Mission: To promote the Chamber and doing business with its members. Promoting the Canton Chamber as a whole to the Canton community and the surrounding area.  Helping members promote their businesses to other members as well as to the neighboring communities.

      Mission: To ensure continuity and success of the Chamber through review and recommendation of its future board of directors and officers annually. This committee also manages the criteria and selection of the annual Business Person of the Year and Community Services Person of the Year awards and the administration of this annual meeting.
